Hi there and welcome!
Are you struggling with connection and intimacy in your relationships? Do you feel misunderstood and frustrated after conversations with your loved ones? Are you in an emotionally distant relationship – or a parent wanting to understand your child better?
Disconnection in our intimate relationships can leave us feeling isolated and lonely – even when our loved one is sitting right next to us. These relational issues can be a real pain point in our daily lives and can present themselves in many unexpected ways and situations. With therapy, I help people strengthen their connection and understanding of themselves and other important people in their lives. I am skilled at helping others heal their “relational wounds.” And the best part is, this kind of work isn’t just for couples, but also for parents, families, or individuals.
I view counseling as a collaborative and relational process, built on mutual trust. The relationship between counselor and client is the vehicle through which change can occur and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. I love helping clients dive deeply into the root causes of certain behaviors and beliefs. Counseling with me can be described as a journey to heal past wounds to move forward in a healthier way. This is usually accomplished by gaining personal insights between your past and where you are today and a deeper understanding of how your beliefs shape your relationships. I am passionate about this type of relational and family work, and creating a safe space for my clients to feel seen and heard.
Whether you’re a disconnected couple, a family struggling with conflict, or an individual trying to navigate past wounds, I can help you foster connection, improve communication, and enhance understanding across these different types of relationships. I primarily utilize an integrative approach, leaning heavily on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), combined with somatic processing specifically focusing on arousal regulation, mindfulness, and attachment theory.
